The oatcake is the Scottish cracker, mostly wholegrain oats with a little oil and salt, baked into a nutty, crumbly round that loves strong cheese; Nairn's Rough Oatcakes list 90% wholegrain oats. The gluten free oatcakes, crackers and flatbreads are made with gluten free oats, and Nairn's own label notes that some people who avoid gluten also react to avenin, a protein in oats.
