Ritz crackers were launched in 1934 by the National Biscuit Company, Nabisco, when America was deep in the Great Depression, and the name promised a bite of the good life. The cracker is round and golden, with a scalloped edge and seven holes, rich and lightly sweet with salt on top, the kind people eat by the stack. The Ritz Original on our shelf lists wheat flour, palm oil, sugar, glucose fructose syrup, raising agents, salt and barley malt flour, and carries a vegan claim on the label. Alongside it we stock Ritz Cheese, with cheese powder and black pepper, and Ritz Breaks in lunchbox packs. Wikipedia notes that in May 2024 the 200g boxes were replaced by 150g boxes at the same price.
