Ryvita Crispbread Dark Rye Crackers, 250g
Rye crispbread from three ingredients, vegan on the label: dark, earthy and lean, and a first class base for strong toppings.
Ryvita Crispbread Dark Rye Crackers, in brief.
Ryvita Crispbread Dark Rye is rye crispbread at its simplest: wholegrain rye flour, rye flour and salt. The pack carries vegan and vegetarian claims.
It is one of the leanest crackers we sell, with 1.2g of fat per 100g on the label data, and 342 kcal per 100g.
Three ingredients make this crispbread: wholegrain rye flour, rye flour and salt. Rye gives it a dark colour, a deep, earthy, slightly sour flavour and a dense, crunchy texture, the style of crispbread that has been eaten across Scandinavia for centuries.
With so little fat and sugar, it is a base for open sandwiches and strong toppings: the rye stands up to things a lighter cracker cannot.

The story behind Ryvita
Ryvita began trading on 4 April 1925, when John Edwin Garratt started importing rye crispbread from Scandinavia. The idea caught on: Ryvita opened its own bakery in Birmingham in 1932, and after that factory was destroyed in the Second World War it moved to a new bakery in Poole, Dorset, in 1949, the year it joined Associated British Foods. Rye crispbread is dense, dry and crunchy; Ryvita Original lists just wholegrain rye flour, rye flour and salt. Over the years the range has added Crackerbread in the 1980s, Minis in 2002 and the Thins flatbreads in 2008, and on our shelf you will find crispbreads plain, dark rye, sesame, multigrain and fruit, along with Thins, Snack It Thins and baked Sticks.
Packaging: a 250g pack. Once the pack is open, fold it tightly closed or tip the crackers into an airtight tin, and keep them somewhere cool and dry. Damp air is what softens a cracker. The pack gives the best before date.
