Ryvita Crispbread Sesame Crackers, 250g
Four ingredients, 11% sesame, 18.1g of fibre per 100g on the label data: a nutty rye crispbread for lunches.
Ryvita Crispbread Sesame Crackers, in brief.
Ryvita Sesame Crispbread is wholegrain rye flour (81%), rye bran, sesame seeds (11%) and salt. Four ingredients, with the sesame toasted into every slice.
The label data gives 18.1g of fibre and 13.3g of protein per 100g, with 6.7g of fat and 0.67g of salt. One slice is 10.5g.
Sesame and rye is a good match: the seeds add a toasty, nutty sweetness to the deep, earthy grain. Ryvita keeps the recipe short, wholegrain rye flour, rye bran, 11% sesame seeds and salt, and bakes it into a dense, crunchy slice.
The rye bran pushes the fibre high, 18.1g per 100g on the label data, and the sesame makes it one of the more flavourful plain crispbreads.

The story behind Ryvita
Ryvita began trading on 4 April 1925, when John Edwin Garratt started importing rye crispbread from Scandinavia. The idea caught on: Ryvita opened its own bakery in Birmingham in 1932, and after that factory was destroyed in the Second World War it moved to a new bakery in Poole, Dorset, in 1949, the year it joined Associated British Foods. Rye crispbread is dense, dry and crunchy; Ryvita Original lists just wholegrain rye flour, rye flour and salt. Over the years the range has added Crackerbread in the 1980s, Minis in 2002 and the Thins flatbreads in 2008, and on our shelf you will find crispbreads plain, dark rye, sesame, multigrain and fruit, along with Thins, Snack It Thins and baked Sticks.
Packaging: a 250g pack. Once the pack is open, fold it tightly closed or tip the crackers into an airtight tin, and keep them somewhere cool and dry. Damp air is what softens a cracker. The pack gives the best before date.
