Ryvita Crispbread Fruit Crunch Currant Seed & Oat Crackers, 200g
A fruity rye crispbread with currants and seeds: sweet, crunchy and very good with Wensleydale.
Ryvita Crispbread Fruit Crunch Currant Seed & Oat Crackers, in brief.
Ryvita Fruit Crunch is a rye crispbread with currants (19%), sunflower and pumpkin seeds (9%), wholegrain wheat, kibbled rye and oat flakes, sweetened with sugar and honey. The label says it is made with 58g of wholegrain rye flour per 100g.
It is a sweeter crispbread, 19.6g of sugars per 100g on the label data, made for breakfast and for cheese that likes fruit.
This crispbread brings fruit and seeds to the rye. Currants make up almost a fifth of the recipe, with sunflower and pumpkin seeds, oat flakes, kibbled rye and a little honey, all on a base that is mostly wholegrain rye flour.
The currants make it sweet and chewy in places, which is why it works at breakfast with butter or cream cheese, and on a cheese board next to a crumbly Wensleydale or a mature Cheddar.

The story behind Ryvita
Ryvita began trading on 4 April 1925, when John Edwin Garratt started importing rye crispbread from Scandinavia. The idea caught on: Ryvita opened its own bakery in Birmingham in 1932, and after that factory was destroyed in the Second World War it moved to a new bakery in Poole, Dorset, in 1949, the year it joined Associated British Foods. Rye crispbread is dense, dry and crunchy; Ryvita Original lists just wholegrain rye flour, rye flour and salt. Over the years the range has added Crackerbread in the 1980s, Minis in 2002 and the Thins flatbreads in 2008, and on our shelf you will find crispbreads plain, dark rye, sesame, multigrain and fruit, along with Thins, Snack It Thins and baked Sticks.
Packaging: a 200g pack. Once the pack is open, fold it tightly closed or tip the crackers into an airtight tin, and keep them somewhere cool and dry. Damp air is what softens a cracker. The pack gives the best before date.
