Jacob's Smoked Cheddar Baked Cheddars are rich, crumbly cheese biscuits with 8% dried powdered cheese (half of it Cheddar) and smoked salt in the dough. The smoke gives a deeper, bonfire style savour than the original.

Jacob's began with W. and R. Jacob's steam biscuit factory in Dublin in 1853, and it was making cream crackers from around 1885: the plain, crisp, blistered square raised with yeast that is still the everyday cracker of British kitchens. In 1914 Jacob's opened its first English factory at Aintree, Liverpool, which Wikipedia records as the main UK producer of Jacob's products today. The range has grown far beyond the cream cracker.
