Jacob's Flatbread Salt & Pepper Crackers, 150g
A thin, peppery flatbread with poppy seeds, lean enough to carry rich dips and creamy cheese.
Jacob's Flatbread Salt & Pepper Crackers, in brief.
Jacob's Flatbreads Salt and Pepper are thin, crisp flatbread crackers with 4% poppy seeds, black pepper and salt. The pack carries a vegetarian claim.
They are lean for a flavoured cracker, at 8.7g of fat per 100g on the label data, with 5g of fibre and 11.3g of protein.
Flatbread crackers are thinner and flatter than most, built for dipping and loading. This Jacob's version seasons the dough with black pepper, salt and poppy seeds, and uses barley malt extract and dried autolysed yeast for a toasty, savoury depth.
It is one of the leaner crackers in the Jacob's range we stock: 8.7g of fat per 100g against 17.6g for Savours Bakes, which makes it a good match for rich dips and cheeses.

The story behind Jacob's
Jacob's began with W. and R. Jacob's steam biscuit factory in Dublin in 1853, and it was making cream crackers from around 1885: the plain, crisp, blistered square raised with yeast that is still the everyday cracker of British kitchens. In 1914 Jacob's opened its first English factory at Aintree, Liverpool, which Wikipedia records as the main UK producer of Jacob's products today. The range has grown far beyond the cream cracker. On our shelf you will find Cheddars and Mini Cheddars, the rich, flaky Cornish Wafers, Krackawheat with 31% ryemeal, Choice Grain, the potato based Bites, TUC, flatbreads, crispbreads and the Biscuits for Cheese selection box.
Packaging: a 150g pack. Once the pack is open, fold it tightly closed or tip the crackers into an airtight tin, and keep them somewhere cool and dry. Damp air is what softens a cracker. The pack gives the best before date.
