Jacob's Bites Mature Cheddar and Caramelised Onion are small, crunchy snacking crackers made with wheat flour and dried potato, flavoured with a natural cheese and onion flavouring and coloured with paprika extract.
A portion on the label is 25g, so the 125g pack gives five. Like the other Bites, they use sunflower oil, so saturated fat is low at 2.1g per 100g.
Cheese and onion is the most British of flavours, and these Bites put it into a light, crunchy cracker. Jacob's steam biscuit factory in Dublin in 1853, and it was making cream crackers from around 1885: the plain, crisp, blistered square raised with yeast that is still the everyday cracker of British kitchens.
